The new incubation room is under construction! The coming days the hatching system will be ready for testing. We have to prepare everything in the next two weeks, because the sole reproduction season is ahead. The first eggs are already released, so are just in time. For us, this is the first time to work with Solea solea larvae. In research projects in the previous years we obtained a lot of knowledge. Now in this larger scale experiments we have to bring this knowledge into practice.
We have developed a hatching system with 10 conical tanks, so we can incubate every day. This room can be used for turbot eggs as well. We can manage the best water quality suited for egg hatching. This incubation room and hatching system is part of the innovation project together with Glasaal Volendam.
